Dear Grand Ledge High School Soccer Families-
I hope you're enjoying your summer and have been preparing for the fall season!!
I'm very excited about the upcoming season. Below is some information pertaining to the season.
There will be a player/parent meeting on Thursday, August 5 at 6pm. This will also serve as a Boughton Work Day. There are a number of small projects that need to be completed and can be done quickly with the help of everyone involved. I anticipate working from 6pm to 7:30pm and then holding the parent/player meeting from 7:30pm to 8pm at the field. I will lay out my expectations for the year and will entertain questions and concerns.
All players must have a physical submitted to the athletic department before they are eligible to participate in any part of fall soccer. You can obtain this form from most doctor's offices, clinics or the athletic department. You can also download the form by going to the following link
Tryouts will begin August 11 bright and early in the morning. August 11, 12, 13, 16, 17 & 18 will be two-a-day tryouts. The morning sessions will be 7am to 9am and the afternoon sessions will be 4pm to 6pm. All sessions will take place at Boughton Field. Players expected to wear appropriate clothing to each session. All players should also bring running shoes and cleats for each session and should bring a water bottle or jug. There will be water available at the field as well.
The Varsity team will be named after the August 18 afternoon session. On August 19 and 20 all players will have practice from 4pm to 6pm. Practices for the rest of the year will be from 3:30pm to 5:30pm.

I also want to remind everyone of the Grand Ledge Summer Soccer Camp. This is a great way to prepare for the season in late July. This camp is not mandatory but is highly recommended. I have worked closely with the UK International Staff to ensure that there is a high intensity program for the high school boys. I have given them a curriculum that they are going to use throughout the week in preparation for the high school season. Though I won't be there for the entire camp, I will be stopping by to monitor the progress and to watch the boys during training and games.
